at The Wood End Gallery in Pertenhall. I managed to get lost even though the road from Colmworth to Wood End could not be easier and Google maps had shown me the route. Knowing my inability to navigate I had taken the phone number of the gallery with me and called the owner, Angela, who talked me along the last mile of road. The Gallery is in a listed and restored barn on the farm which Angela’s grandfather ran for forty years. She has turned the place into a bright and welcoming space which offers local artists and potters and wood turners a place to show and sell their work. They also offer art classes in drawing, painting and Lino cutting. Just opposite the gallery is a field rented by the Creaseys to graze some of their Dexter cattle. We bought Lucy and Beattie two years ago from the prize winning Creasey herd and they arrived with the rather posh names of Lucerne and Beatrix!
