Iggle and Piggle have learnt to feed from the lamb bucket and especially like to guzzle away when the milk is warm. From tomorrow they will sleep outside in their nursery pen but shut up safely away from foxes in the cat cage. I will miss our late night chats which are, admittedly, a bit one sided. The twins born this morning have survived the day and their mother, Little Miss Pretty, has been very attentive. Against all the odds the tiny lamb got onto its feet and has been feeding. Both lambs are struggling and we tried to get mother and babes into the field shelter but the mother got spooked and wouldn’t follow us and the lambs. So they will all have to take their chances outside overnight and it will be survival (or not) of the fittest.
