Weeding the rhubarb with an Ibis

You can’t beat a good old fashioned implement used for hundreds of years by South East Asian farmers.  A metal and wooden hand tool called by our organic garden supplier an Ibis. I hacked away at the weeds with the pointed end of the tool and then pulled out the tufts of grass and weeds with my gloved hands.

Finally the rhubarb bed looks neat and tidy and Jeremy is digging a trench around the plot to keep weeds at bay.  Although it can sometimes feel as if we are fighting a losing battle against the ubiquitous thistles we are determined to win!
