Lots of surprises this morning

The nectarine tree is actually

An apricot tree!
And Sue, from The Black Cat Farm shop at Roxton, confirmed what our cousins told us yesterday (they questioned me when I said that it was a nectarine tree). And (below) Sue and our cousin looked at the tree above

Which was labelled

But is in fact a sweet almond tree laden with fruits.
Delicious

You only need one!

I saved some pumpkin seeds from two of our squashes that we grew last year. I sowed them in pots and put them on the kitchen windowsill and watered them lovingly. Only one seedling emerged – much to my disappointment. I planted it in a raised bed and kept a close eye on it, surrounding it with organic slug pellets whilst it was a vulnerable baby plant and then watering it when the days were dry. This morning I admired it.

And below
It is flowering and forming fruits. It seems that you only need one seed to germinate after all!
