Cold with a watery sun Down at the pond daffs are blooming Trees are blossoming Those who remember Little Dotty from two years ago will
Know that she failed to thrive and only lived for a few weeks. She was loved and cared for and we planted a pear tree (above) in her honour.
Blossom opening on the Victoria plum treeAnd the zwetschen tree has buds that are just beginning to open
The temperature has dropped and I wore gloves this morning and still my fingers are cold. They tingle as I return indoors as the blood rushes back into my hands. I’m going out again to milk the goats.
Last night we dressed up for the festival of Purim
With grandchildren friends and family
Coincidentally a newspaper carried an extract of Jews Milk Goats this weekend
Which is the first chapter which begins with the birth of a lamb
That coincided with the festival of Purim.
Here are some costumes that were worn by other celebrants today
Goldilocks with one of the three bears And here I am with a very special 94 year old
She cried when she saw me this morning as she (and many others) think that I look so like my late and much missed mother.
My mother and father introduced this wonderful woman to a friend of theirs 74 years ago. Within 3 weeks the couple were engaged and have enjoyed a very long and loving marriage. Now her great granddaughter and my grandson (mum’s great grandson) are firm friends and attend the same school. How lovely.
All we need now is a Purim miracle to bring peace to our very troubled world – in Ukraine, in the Middle East, in Sudan and Haiti not forgetting the millions of Rohingya refugees and those displaced and dying from malnutrition mostly caused by wars and corruption and climate change. We need a miracle now (but, sadly, I am not holding my breath).
The heart was a gift from one of the bridesmaids. It signifies a place in our hearts for the hostages still held in vicious and inhumane captivity. They include a baby and a toddler (if they are even still alive). The card and several gifts including a rose to plant and a weathervane from wonderful Dianne. The author plaque is engraved on a piece of slate. That made me smile.Card from last year and card for this year sitting next to a real plant which has been flowering since Christmas If you haven’t bought it, downloaded it and read it – go for it! I would be interested to hear your comments.
