Home again after two nights with the family

Last night we dressed up for the festival of Purim

With grandchildren friends and family

Coincidentally a newspaper carried an extract of Jews Milk Goats this weekend

Which is the first chapter which begins with the birth of a lamb

That coincided with the festival of Purim.

Here are some costumes that were worn by other celebrants today

Goldilocks with one of the three bears
And here I am with a very special 94 year old

She cried when she saw me this morning as she (and many others) think that I look so like my late and much missed mother.

My mother and father introduced this wonderful woman to a friend of theirs 74 years ago. Within 3 weeks the couple were engaged and have enjoyed a very long and loving marriage. Now her great granddaughter and my grandson (mum’s great grandson) are firm friends and attend the same school. How lovely.

All we need now is a Purim miracle to bring peace to our very troubled world – in Ukraine, in the Middle East, in Sudan and Haiti not forgetting the millions of Rohingya refugees and those displaced and dying from malnutrition mostly caused by wars and corruption and climate change. We need a miracle now (but, sadly, I am not holding my breath).
