The ducks were a bit silly about going to bed tonight (click below).

They had also, unwisely, laid an egg outside the house and it had been pecked at and sucked out by a canny Corvid.

We have taken four other duck eggs and put them under a broody hen – although she isn’t keen on duck eggs instead of hens eggs. In the big field the sheep are “bagging up” in readiness for lambing.

I am nervous and excited. Pinky has had trouble two years running with very large lambs causing birthing problems. Fingers crossed Pinky.
