Four women and two men set off this morning and we were soon discussing colds and “man colds” – which I decided was “sexist and unfair” criticism of men and should therefore be silenced along with any sexist remarks about women. The jury is out on that one. As the sun rose higher and the air became warmer we four women looked back over our shoulders to where the two men were struggling to catch up with us.

We continued on our way, talking about such topical subjects as transgender recognition and the daily broadcasts and debates on Woman’s Hour this week and next (yes Colmworth is, surprisingly, very much up to the minute on gender politics!) and we met Cheryl and dog Sidney as we returned through the Country Park.
