As I finished watering the outdoor cherry tomatoes the first of the garden produce began to be brought in by “the head gardener”. I ran to get a box so that some of the courgettes and marrows and pumpkins could be left outside the kitchen and taken to London tomorrow to give away to Jeremy’s work colleagues. Then in came tomatoes and cucumbers and a lettuce that was just about to bolt and two kinds of french beans and a few windfall bramley apples. There are late raspberries to pick and more ginormous pumpkins that will make great Halloween decorations (but will they wait that long?).
