We arrived back from a 26 hour visit to London. The silence was broken by the cats miaowing to be fed, the lambs bleating fit to burst and a dog fox barking at the far end of the garden. All animals were well and, having decided to wean the lambs in our absence, we relented and I made them some milk and they gratefully sucked it from their buckets. The hens had left us five assorted eggs and the duck was sitting on her nest. The geese are a law unto themselves, sometimes sitting, sometimes not. One is tonight and the other three are out swimming on the pond under the midnight moon.
