Never give up hope.

Yesterday, when we were uprooting plants that had finished fruiting, I suggested to Jeremy that we leave the Cape Gooseberry plants for just another week to see if they might ripen.  It seemed a vain hope.  Yet when I pushed the dense foliage aside I found several husks turning brown and containing ripe yellow fruits.  The first physalis tasted more delicious than any other fruit from the garden this year!
