It’s the dustbin “issue” that counts

Elections, national and around here local too. So many of the tradesman who have worked on the barns either are not registered to vote or don’t bother to vote. Their attitude is mirrored around the country with young women even less likely to vote than young men! One wonders what the suffragettes were doing or why. Around the world, people die for democracy. Here a third of the voting population can’t be bothered to walk or drive to the polling station,It seems that most people care whether or not their dustbins are emptied weekly (ours are and the recycling is emptied fortnightly) and this is probably one of the dominant factors in a local council election. Who knows? I don’t but, as one member of my family said in disgust …….the Scots voted to stay in the union but they have voted in 56 SNP MPS out of a possible 59 when the SNP remit is to make Scotland independent. Go figure!
Anyway I am pleased to report that both my dustbins were emptied this morning.

  1. People don’t like to do. They just like to complain when things don’t get done. Thank goodness we have a majority Government!
