If you want calves then you either invite the AI man to visit or you borrow a bull.  Our neighbour, friend and mentor has lent us her young bullock who has just finished servicing some other cows some distance away.  As soon as he arrived our “girls” took a shine to him and started prancing around. He is certainly a handsome beast.

Our human visitors joined us for lunch and it was lovely to show them around The Gables and send them home with some courgettes, marrows and runner beans.
