Craig and Neil have almost finished the floor in the garages. The sliding doors and windows are in and then they will start on the stud walls. They are making progress and we hope to have three additional bedrooms and bathrooms ready for spring and summer visitors.
Out in the field this morning we dug two more trenches. This time we planted Jerusalem artichokes, threw some well rotted manure over the top and filled them in with earth. These are permanent beds and they are hardy plants. I hope they won’t be too “knobbly” as they are difficult to clean and prepare if the have too many protrusions.

Everywhere there are signs of spring, not just the daffodils and hyacinths, but the blossom on the trees and the prolific activity of the birds – who are eating bird seeds out of the feeders so quickly that I will have to go shopping later and get in fresh supplies from the farm shop.

The rhubarb is shooting up and I am hoping I will be allowed a few sticks soon (Jeremy???) to stew with some honey or sugar.

I loved this. Shabbat Shalom. Where are you exactly
