Son is on the way to The Gables – he stopped down the road to take this sunset picture

The children helped me milk the goat

Then it was present opening time with a strong BEE theme

We play backgammon – but not for money……yet!

There are also cuddles with Mabel

I saw at least three buzzards sling Bushmead road and two kestrels and one woodpecker on the wing. Driving home from St Neots I stopped at the side of Mill Road to photograph and film (in slow motion) another buzzard

Sometimes I get bored with my cookery repertoire and then look for new (but always uncomplicated) recipes. This morning it’s chocolate cake (to be sandwiched together later with chocolate butter icing)

And here are some black bean burgers. With both recipes I omitted the ingredients I was missing and substituted others or left them out all together.

Nigel and I have just watched South Pacific

I was sitting with mum at the care home this afternoon when her great grandson (my oldest grandson) rang to give us a review of the remake of West Side Story.

When I used to look after grandson twice a week before he started school we (probably quite inappropriately) watched West Side Story or part of it nearly every week. All life, love, prejudice and pathos is there in that one superb story with the wonderful words, music and dancing. They don’t make ‘em like that any more!
