The good news and the bad news

The vets have just been to inspect Yardie (he is only walking on three legs) and SJ (Spot Junior). They think that Yardie has a high up fracture and NOT a dislocation. They have splinted the leg snd will return to check him out in a fortnight

As for SJ (who, like Dotty last year, is failing to thrive) there is no obvious cause. We will continue to try and feed him but we are unlikely to be successful. So we will just love him and keep him comfortable until his inevitable demise

I may need therapy!

This is one of Toffee’s twins. He is definitely failing to thrive just like Dotty last year

It’s breaking my heart. He seems so lonely. I try to bottle feed him but, like Dotty, he’s not interested. We will call the vet tomorrow and ask him to look at the little lamb and also to look at the lamb with what, sadly, I think is a dislocated leg. If so he will have to be euthanased by the vet. He stood and watched the other lambs running and jumping this evening and he couldn’t join in the fun

Rest in peace little lamb

Poddy’s little fellow succumbed in the night.

Poddy was really too young to have a baby – she’s just a one year old herself and she has a tiny udder. fortunately she doesn’t seem too distressed and is out in the field now grazing and seeing her friend Spot. We will plant a tree for the lamb. Rest in peace.
