A chance encounter with a little egret, an aggressive sheep and a poignant garden of remembrance

I went to the pharmacy in nearby Great Barford and took
my daily walk beginning in the All Saints churchyard

From there a walk by the river and the single lane 15th Century bridge (strengthened and widened in the 20th Century).
A footpath across a field of grazing sheep where a spotted a Little Egret
I knew that it would fly away when I got too close Click below

By this time I had strayed off the footpath and one of the hefty sheep decided to warn me and bashed me, twice, in the thigh!

Pregnant?

Some of the ewes look round in the belly but it might just be their winter woollen coats

Susie seems to be developing an udder and “eating for two!”
The August lambs are too young to be mothers
And Perky is “getting on a bit” and is almost toothless
