Dear old Tufty came to us as a young ram and grew into a fine and productive gentleman. Truly gentle he was never, as some rams are, aggressive.
Now he has lost all his strength and condition and he has become very thin and in the last few days almost unable to take more than a few steps.
The vet is coming this morning to save him an undignified end – which would mean starvation, pain and suffering.

We both held him as he was put to sleep. When the vet arrived, tufty tried to stand and kept falling. His legs were really stiff. There was no way that he could survive. The Vet was amazed that he had lived to the age of 14 and was still fathering Sheep last year. He was such a gentle ram and such a lovely creature. But as the Vet said he had a wonderful life and we did tell him that he fathered several Sheep amongst your girls
