The resident baker (not me but my husband)

Has been baking sour dough chollahs for Rosh Hashanah.

He has decorated the round loaves with hands.

The round loaves symbolise continuity and the hand is open in supplication. The Jewish New Year is a time when we ask the Almighty for a good judgement – another year on this planet – a year of health and tranquillity. I wish everyone a Shanah Tovah – a good year and that you be written into the Book of Life.
