In our absence overnight and yesterday a young badger was filmed in the courtyard in the daytime. How do I know it was a young badger? It looks small and by Google’s account and wisdom badgers are strictly nocturnal but young badgers might come out in daytime to explore or forage. Or it could be an orphan. I’ve seen a badger in the daytime only once and it gave me quite a start! More about our struggle with badgers another time.
