Glad to see that you are reading our Book Circle book – we had an interesting discussion on The Postcard, tonight. Out of 9 attendees & 1 in absentia we had 6 hits, 2 misses & 2 lukewarms – a well researched story, the addition of fiction to fact did annoy several people but overall a success and interesting read, although could have done with more editing. Evoked many reminiscences of family histories from the Holocaust period too, as well as discussion about some of the leading characters. Hope you will be reading our next book, Scaffolding by Lauren Elkin.
Shana Tovah Umetukah to all at the Gables and relatives nearby. xx
I read the book in one day on Shabbat. It was recommended by a jewish friend in bedford and I ordered it from the library. I collected it last Friday and read it on Shabbat.
I’m keeping it for another week so that Jeremy can read it this coming Shabbat
