My favourite public building and look what I found

When I moved to The Gables, over 10 years ago, I went into the town of St Neots and the first place I needed to find was the library. I’m a library addict. It’s my literary sweet shop and I always want to borrow more books than I could possibly read. Unlike my other addiction, sweets, books aren’t bad for my teeth!

Today I was at the library to finish filling in the paperwork for my new volunteer role on Monday mornings – running Rhyme Time for preschool children, toddlers and even babies who will all be accompanied by a mum, dad or grandparent. I used to run a singing session in my local library in London where many of the children were brought by au pairs and professional nannies. Not so in St Neots – it’s a different vibe.

I will be allowed to use the staff room – how exciting – and browse books at my leisure after the session finishes.

Today a new book caught my eye. I grabbed it greedily.

We both read his last book, “Grey Bees” – highly recommended. This book even boasts the name of my beloved Lviv in the title alongside one of my musical heroes who lived a tragically short life after a difficult childhood.

As those of you who have read my own book, “Jews Milk Goats” will know one of the chapters is called “From London to Lviv”.

If you haven’t got a copy you can buy a paperback or kindle version from Amazon. Let me know what you think.

I’m off to brush up my singing ….. “If you’re happy and you know it clap your hands!”
