Visitors – humans and winged creatures too

The Detectorists visited today. No treasure but we sat and chatted in the pergola afterwards with coffee and jam tarts
J went off to inspect the hives (a friend had warned us that one of her colonies had swarmed)
The other detectorist always saves a gables jam tart or piece of gables cake to take home to her husband
Later I sat quietly under the pergola and watched a pale yellow brimstone butterfly settle on a pale yellow double headed daff. Click below

  1. Send that female brimstone my way. I have a solitary male fluttering around my garden but not yet spotted a mate for him!
    Shame no treasures were unearthed!
