The Detectorists – coming to a field near you

On my afternoon walk I met this gentleman and his dog Ted

Ted had a bully dog look but was friendly. I had asked, “Does he bite?” And was assured that he was more likely to lick my face than bite. Neither appealed to me!Turned out that Ted’s master is a detectorist and he and two pals were setting up tents to camp in the field until Sunday. They pay the farmer for the privilege and agree to share any treasure trove proceeds.

I learnt a lot and might consider letting them come onto our field another time.

What fun and a warm weekend in prospect

  1. Loads of cars had arrived by 7.30 this morning, and happy detectorists soon spread out all over the field.
