In winter time or after a great deal of rain barn owls are hungry snd may need to hunt by day. They fly low to the ground. What a stirring sight as I took my late afternoon walk. I do hope the owl found some food.

Lucky you. Not seen one so well for quite a time. Lots of tawny and little owl calls after dark the last few evenings. They start to breed very early in the year to time with the vole families coming out of their holes when the owlets hatch and need lots of food!
