Flowers here and tidings from France

And from France……

When I was was eight I shared my bedroom with an 18 year old from France who had come to London to live with our family. Francoise wanted to learn English and in return for bed and board she babysat and helped mum. She became a member of our family. Francoise’s family and ours met in Paris one year and we stayed in contact with Francoise until this very day. We visited her in France and she visited us in England. We knew all about her children and grandchildren and she about all of our family. The connection has always been strong and loving. Today Francoise sent me a beautiful and poignant photograph of a young Ukrainian couple who have fled from Moscow. She has taken them into her home and they are communicating in English. Bless her, bless them and may their sojourn not be too long.
