Another way of visiting. This time a “pod” visit.

Into the premises via the beautiful gardens of the care home.

Then I was shown into a room with two chairs and a table and a speaker and PPE “stuff”. Mum sat on the other side of a large glass screen with a speaker on a table near her. It worked really well and I was able to hold up my iPhone and show her photos of animals at The Gables. She misses her visits here but mobility and travel issues (not to mention pandemics) make it impossible for her to be here. She has many good memories of time spent with us and we with her. She was particularly thrilled to see the photograph of her late cousin’s new baby great grandson in Israel. He is a beauty and mum was convinced that he was looking at her. Next week I have a room visit booked and maybe, soon, we will be permitted garden visits. Here’s hoping.

  1. I’m sure he was looking at her! Please give her my love next time you’re there.
