One walk, three species and a strange sight

Alfalfa
I used my SEEK app to identify all the plants I spotted on a short walk across an unploughed part of a nearby field
Wild chicory
Creeping thistles

And lastly in the hedge row a furry looking ball on the branch of a dog rose.

The common name is a robin’s pin cushion. It’s an abnormal growth that is caused by the gall wasp laying its eggs on the developing leaves of the rose in late summer. Strange
