The U3A walkers, last Friday, insisted on giving a donation towards a charity of our choice by way of a “thank you” for refreshments in the barn. I nominated the St Neots Food bank.

This morning I took our donations and an unopened packet of disposable nappies (unused by youngest grandson) to a unit in Little End Road where two volunteers were making up boxes of goods to distribute to the local food banks.

We are living in a society where the gap between the haves and have nots is ever widening. If we accept this then that gulf will continue to grow and we will be a divided nation not just over Brexit but over even more fundamental issues such as food and housing. I could go on but I won’t.
