The white duck sat on her eggs for nearly three weeks…..and we began to hope.

But love intervened! Every morning, when I let the other ducks out of their duck house, the black headed drake made his way over to the sitting duck house and quacked and quacked and quacked. White duck would set up an answering call although she remained seated. Then, sadly, the lure of her mate was too much to bear and she arose from her nest. What was the solution? I caught the black headed drake and carried him into the duck house where white duck was sitting.

Then white and black ducks were reunited and the duck sat back on her nest…….for a couple of days. Until she got bored with being confined (or did he tell her that life was more fun outside?) and she refused to sit any longer. So out they went to join the rest of the birds……..

And the white duck is now cavorting with all the other drakes. Oh fickle one!
Wishing you all a chag kasher v’sameach!Love from the Holy Land!Chani
