Buzzards in Borehamwood and tufted ducks in Aberford Park

Wildlife is everywhere. We walked through grandson’s local park yesterday and I lifted my eyes to the sky where a buzzard was soaring high above. I told grandson that the buzzard had flown from Colmworth! Then we walked along the bank of the lake in the park. There were Canada geese gliding on the water and an assortment of ducks. Then I spotted a female Tufted duck swimming towards us with six ducklings around her. We stopped to watch them as they dived into and under the water. Then an air bubble would rise and a second later out would pop the diving duckling ready to gulp some air and dive down again. Grandson and I went back to the park this morning and found Mummy Tufted and, in fact, seven chocolate coloured, fluffy ducklings.

I am back at The Gables now and, mercifully, it is overcast and cooler than of late.
