We moved six of the drakes down to the goose pond last week. We clipped their wings to stop them from flying back to the duck pond. Hmmm. They promptly waddled through the sheep netting and made their way back to the girls. So we put them in a closed run outside the kitchen but now the girls are quacking loudly to be allowed to join them.

They seem to have forgotten that the ardent drakes killed two of the ducks overnight last week when they were all shut up in the duck house overnight. Mrs Sitting Duck has fortified her nest and is keeping her eggs warm. Maybe 10 more days to go.
