30 years ago one of Jeremy’s clients was going to India and asked what he could bring back as a gift. Jokingly Jeremy said, “An elephant”. He duly returned with a large wooden elephant which sat on the stairway at the office and thereafter clients brought in elephants from all around the world and so did members of staff and interns and work experience youngsters until the herd of elephants was spread over numerous shelves in two offices. Recently, when Jeremy changed to a new law practice, the elephants were boxed up and moved to The Gables where they sat gathering dust and feeling sad. Two weeks ago I took them out of storage and carefully, wiped, washed and polished each creature from the biggest to the tiniest, bejewelled elephant. Chris has put up lots of shelves and they are now out and proud for all to see.
