I am trying to “reassure” Mabel that her position is not threatened by the arrival of a younger female, Josie.  The young cat wants to be friends with the old girl but Mabel still hisses and puts out a threatening paw if Josie gets too close or playful.  It’s better than it was but still far from a cordial detente and Josie would so very much like to be “friends”.  Come on Mabel, get over it.
