On one of our usual footpaths, a significant landmark had disappeared. It was the huge old haystack that has been rotting there for a few years. We tried to get all three dogs to “sit” at the same time but they weren’t interested. They just wanted to play.

As we carried on along our route we found a group of lost teenagers (aren’t all teenagers “lost”?). They were on their Duke of Edinburgh hike and were trying to get to Colmworth church. We pointed them in the right direction and met up with them later in the country park.
The summer sunshine has ripened the wheat and soon the combine harvesters will be out bringing in the crops.
