Sadness begins to turn to anger but here at The Gables there is harmony and beauty and peacefulness

Although I grew up living in a block of flats it was only 7 storeys tall and made of solid brick with a wide staircase and a large lift.  It is unnatural to put people in towers that reach high into the sky where they are removed from the grass and trees and birds.  We are so fortunate, here at The Gables, to be living close to animals and plants.  It may be time to pull down all the remaining tower blocks and place people closer to the earth where they can feel connected to each other and to their surroundings.  Here are some of the sights I was privileged to photograph just an hour ago.  They usually make me happy but tonight, when I see the faces of those who are missing, I feel terribly sad.  On the radio today a mother described the tears of her six year old son.   They live in a huge tower block in Swiss Cottage, London and the little boy is afraid in his own home.  Many more children and parents will sleep with fear until changes are made.

  1. We are very lucky. Back in 1970 I very nearly rented a high rise flat in Thamesmead. I went out there every weekend. It was finished but never seemed any closer to being commissioned. I got fed up and bought my first place in Putney. Lovely Putney!
