Mum and I drove to London this afternoon after lying to Micky C about our whereabouts today……I said that we were going to St Neots for some shopping.  In fact we were going to meet with friends and family at a restaurant in Muswell Hill for a surprise supper with the birthday boy (all secretly arranged by my lovely sister in law).  Mum and I were delighted that two of my grandchildren (and her great grandchildren) were at the rendezvous when we arrived.  A chance to celebrate a significant birthday, to cuddle the children and to hope that the year ahead will bring more happiness than sadness for everyone, everywhere.
