Yesterday several bags of seed potatoes arrived. They were due to be planted in the polytunnel but it was occupied by the chickens. So this morning Jeremy and Chris put up a second polytunnel (while I quietly slipped away to my Zumba class in Little Staughton) and by lunchtime the new home was complete. Next, Jeremy and I had to chase six cockerels, five bantams and seven other assorted (and much loved) hens around the tunnel so that we could catch them and carry them to their new home. The Maran cockerel was the wiliest of the bunch but even he succumbed and they are now exploring their spacious and well furnished abode.
