Sliced cooking apples (stored in newspaper in a cardboard box), dotted with plum jam, then frozen gooseberries and on top a mixture of melted butter, rolled oats and golden brown sugar.  They are now cooking in the oven and later I will go over to Kate’s to buy some of the apples that she stored from her orchard.  Whilst the rain continues I will continue to cook.
