The new calf is taller than three week old Lexy.  At the moment its coat is reddish black but might become darker.  The cows and calves are together all the time and if Beattie wanders off for a minute or two then Lucy takes over “babysitting” duties and even licks the new calf.  Lexy will soon have a playmate and the mothers can sit and watch them running around the paddock.
