Around the village are bridleways and footpaths and also a Drovers’ Road along which, in olden days, the farmers would move their cattle from one field to another, from summer to winter pasture and even to market and along which carts would ride. At least 40 feet wide a Drovers’ Road had to accommodate a flock of sheep or a herd of cattle or a horse drawn cart. We no longer see livestock on this road but we did walk by a flock of sheep in a nearby field. A pretty sight on a sunny, frosty morning.

Gill looks lovely what a great walk x
