Professor Rosa Freedman (yep, oft times visitor to her mum and dad at The Gables) telling it like it is re the UN and the new appointment of Secretary General.
Her other claim to fame is when she looked after Wiggle one weekend in London when he was still being bottle fed. Don’t know how many UN experts have bottle fed a lamb in a suburban semi?

Thank you for sharing this, Gill. I agree with Rosa that the lack of transparency in electing the head of the UN is a matter for concern. But I have never thought of the Secretary General as anything other than a figurehead. He is not a leader so we cannot hope for any reform of the organisation coming soon. Yet another day when I might despair if I were not the eternal optimist!
