I had to skip my Wednesday footpath walk as I was needed in London for grandparent duties. I visited my usual Primark in Kilburn (near to where I worked for 25 years) to buy clothes for my grandson. I saw a Disney inspired little girl’s handbag which carried a picture of a character from the film “Frozen”…….granddaughter’s favourite film apparently. I got in line and, no kidding, the queue stretched to the back of the shop as if it was the week before Xmas. The wait was worthwhile as when I collected granddaughter from nursery she was ecstatic about the bag and insisted on wearing it for the rest of the afternoon. I hate myself for succumbing to the merchandising hype but the reaction overcame my misgivings. Maybe I need to watch the film? Maybe I need to resist the clever marketing?

Funny Gillian your reaction about merchandising hype…..I remember a visit at Disney’s restaurant one evening where your parents had taken Michael’s family for a WE I guess and invited us for dinner my Michel and I.
When I saw how your nephews were ecstatic as well as your granddaughter with Mickey and all the caracters…I changed my mind…I would have to take my future grandchildren to Disney park. We can’t fight with everything specially for our little ones.
. By the way I’ll be in London on 21st of october on my way to collect Romain at Heathrow aeroport (I have to take him to Oxford where he is staying with a family) Shall I have time to make a quick visit to Sybil as I have to be at the aeroport by 1pm? No clue about how long it will take me!
Love to you all
