Last week one of the apricot coloured ducks could not get out of the pond at “bedtime” and we had to lift her out as she couldn’t bend her legs or stand on them.  We shut her in a separate house from the others with a dish of food and a dish of water and expected to find her dead the next morning.  But no, she was quacking and trying to move and within an hour had laid an egg.  So last night when the same duck was still in the water when the others had gone inside, Jeremy lifted her out put her in the other duck house with her food and water and lo and behold this morning I found her quacking and stepping out of the nest box where lay a warm slightly cracked soft shelled egg.  Anyone got advice for an egg bound call duck?
