Cieste gave birth to a sturdy ram lamb this morning but then, nearly an hour later, she produced two more lambs.  Distressed and ignoring  the third of the three we had to bring in the little girl, dry her with towels and feed her with a syringe, tube and reconstituted colostrum.  Outside Cieste was taking swipes at the other late lamb and knocking him to the ground with her horns every time he tried to feed whilst letting the first lamb suckle.  We had to bring him into the kitchen too and he wolfed down the feed so quickly that it was obvious that he was starving.  So now the lambs (named Iggle and Piggle) are in the kitchen in the cage that the cats used to live in when they first arrived at The Gables.  We are planning a better place in which they can live but it looks like we will be bottle feeding for some time!
