Advancing years has at least three compensations. Wisdom, grandchildren and a Diamond Card from B and Q being the third. Now I can pop in on Wednesdays and receive a ten per cent discount. True, my shopping will be accompanied by piped rock music and I will have to dodge the walking frames and oxygen cylinders (I kid you not) but then these are now “my people” and I will embrace my senior years and take advantage of any offers available. And ten per cent off the cost of a lawnmower is quite handy.
