Last year the first ducklings were born on March 8th. This year there are plenty of duck eggs being laid but none of the ducks is sitting. So, to encourage one that has shown more signs than the others, we have put her and a drake into the duck ark and we will see if they oblige.

Sorry I never got round this afternoon but got stuck into the first proper gardening session of the year. 3 of my little rose beds and the three overgrown roses inside are now all tidy, composted and pruned. I pruned them really severely so we have to wait to see if they survive!
Good luck with the ducks – maybe Sue Lang at the Farm Shop will try to sell some for you if you have a surplus.
