I barrowed out the last bale of hay this morning. Some to the sheep, some to the calves and the rest to the cows. The water troughs were frozen, again, but not quite as thickly as yesterday. The twin lambs were so hungry and fed up that they were suckling from their mother – which they haven’t done for some weeks! Farmer Kevin is due to deliver us 30 bales of hay some time today and then I will fill up the sheep and cow racks and the animals can gorge themselves on the sweet dried grass.

Another lovely photo Jill. Frosty grass in the early sunshine. You’re spreading the loveliness around!
