Grateful to be “free” to feed the animals in the rays of the rising sun

After the intimidating face to face message from a senior policeman yesterday who stated “I strongly advise you to move on or even to move away from the area” and who did not even want me to move to the other side of the road (which, in spite of his veiled threat, I did), I feel grateful to be a “free” woman, able to open my back door, photograph the stunning “red” sunrise and free to feed my animals.  A state visit by a leader of an oppressive regime should not be an excuse for British police officers to move me from a pavement when I was simply standing and waiting to catch a glimpse of China’s First Lady.  Rant over but perhaps more to follow if I decide to pursue the police for an apology.

  1. Gillian, I am glad that you have put this in the public domain. We must not accept China’s standards of human rights just because we now have to kow tow to them for economic reasons.
