On the last day of July the temperatures rise, at last.

The runner beans (so late because of the cold night temperatures)  are yielding a small tender crop.  The blackcurrants, sadly, have finished fruiting but there are plenty of raspberries and redcurrants with apples, pears and plums to anticipate in the weeks ahead. The leeks, celery, celeriac, parsnips, turnips and beetroot  are growing well and should provide a fine store of winter vegetables which we will leave in the ground until required.
